Rachel Bray is currently a PhD student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Strathclyde researching power dynamics in the implementation of Just Transition policies and strategies. Alongside her PhD Rachel is also a Research Associate in the Strathclyde Business School researching geoscience skill ecosystems in Scotland and Australia. Rachel has previously been involved in assessing the policy and regulatory barriers to decentralised energy systems, including the need for policies and strategies that assess the skills provision required for a Just Transition to these types of systems and the co-benefits of adopting a local approach to transition. Prior to joining EnergyREV Rachel worked at the University of Exeter as an independent partner in Centrica’s Cornwall Local Energy Market trial. Rachel has also worked with the Scottish Government to find practical solutions to embedding Just Transition principles into national and local net-zero energy strategies and projects and with ScottishPower on updating their Just Transition Strategy.
