EnergyREV CO-LEAD on Market Design for Local Clean Energy Systems

Thomas Morstyn

Thomas Morstyn is a lecturer in Power Electronics and Smart Grids at the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. In 2018 he was awarded an EPSRC-UKRI Innovation Fellowship, "A Networked Market Platform for Electric Vehicle Smart Charging". His research interests include multi-agent control and market design for distributed energy resource integration. As co-lead of the EnergyRev plus project, "Market Design for Scaling Up Local Clean Energy Systems", he led research into new mechanisms to achieve coordination between local energy trading platforms operating in parallel at different time scales and physical scales, and to successfully integrate them into power system operations at the system level.
