Enrique Ortega is a Research Associate at the Imperial College London with experience in the development of Energy System models for the economic and technical analysis in projects funded by the EPSRC, European Union (EU-FP7), National Grid, UK Power Networks, Ofgem, UKERC, SSE, ETI, EDF, Hitachi, among others. He worked in the National Grid (ESO) as a Power System Engineer in the Data and Modelling team to integrate Generation and Transmission Network models used to simulate and analyse the GB electrical system operation and future project upgrades. His role in EnergyREV is to analyse and assess the system-wide implications of widespread uptake of SLES. Include the characterisation of various types of SLES in whole-energy system models, enhancing existing energy models to adequately consider specific features of SLES interactions between local and national energy and environmental objectives.
