Helene Turon

Helene Turon is professor in economics at the University of Bristol. She specialises in labour economics, working on both theoretical and empirical aspects of labour market models. Her recent research focuses on labour reallocation, the public-private pay gap, and earnings dynamics. Helene provided weekly feedback on the ongoing work on smart local energy systems in Bristol. She focused on the understanding of the volume and nature of new skill types needed in the new systems and on the barriers to reallocation of existing skills from other sectors to this new area of economic activity. She highlighted the range in possible actors that may foster a quicker reallocation, such as higher education institutions and professional networks.
