Renewables-hydrogen energy system designed for Pembrokeshire

By Joanne Patterson, Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University

Prospering from the Energy Revolution (PFER) funding has helped to take forward the design of the Milford Haven Energy Kingdom project alongside funding from the Welsh Government and others as a detailed design project. The project will involve exploring how the creation of hydrogen via a rapid growth in renewable electricity can take place in the area, whilst transferring skills from the existing energy sector and utilising existing infrastructure. A number of hydrogen demonstrators are being deployed to help develop a strong business case to support further large-scale investment in hydrogen.
