Smart Local Energy Systems have the potential to bring social, economic and environmental benefits. Appropriate policy, regulation and market arrangements are required to allow businesses and organisations to take advantage of the opportunities provided.
The Institutions theme explored how the objectives of different actors involved in local energy systems can be aligned for wider energy system and public benefit. This provided insights to inform new approaches, leading to recommendations for policy and regulatory change that will help capture multiple societal benefits.
